Facilities & Services

Clubhouse
Located in East Greenwich Cove, the East Greenwich Yacht Club offers both members and transients a great place to leisurely spend a few hours either reading a book while sitting in a rocking chair on the front porch or sipping your favorite beverage at the club house bar.

The East Greenwich Yacht Club is also a full service private event facility. If you are interested in additional information, please call the EGYC office.

Safety
Whether you are boating or driving around EGYC, safety should be your number one priority!

If you are boating, remember EGYC is in a NO WAKE ZONE!! That means that you must adhere to the 5 mph speed limit marker as you approach the East Greenwich cove. During the summer months, the East Greenwich Harbor Master is constantly on patrol watching for violators!

During the summer months, there are always a lot of children in the area on foot or in small sailboats so please use caution.

If you are driving, you must adhere to the posted speed limits and be alert for children. Pay attention to the little green "men" (no they are not aliens!) on either side of the road between EGYC and Norton's Marina. These are there to attract the attention of drivers entering and leaving Norton's Marina and to assist the GBSA students in crossing from the classroom building to the boat staging area.

Internet Access
WiFi internet access is available in the clubhouse in the Member's Lounge and Bar area.  The password for gaining WiFi access is available from the office staff.

If you do not have a PC with you, a computer with WiFi access, a printer, and a copier is also available in the Boardroom upstairs in the clubhouse.  Since this equipment is in a locked cabinet, you will need to obtain a key from the EGYC office.

Beacon WiFi operates in the area with daily, weekly or monthly rates. Beacon's antenna is located at Norton's Marina just north of the EGYC. With a 200mw or better WiFi card reliable service can be achieved at most areas of the EGYC, however most standard laptop cards are at best 50mw. Without a high power card you may achieve reasonably reliable service from the north mooing field or 'E' or 'F' docks.

The outdoor dining area of 20 Water Street restaurant also has wifi. It is also available at the East Greenwich Free Library on 82 Pierce Street. For more information, click here.
